n this two-hour, one-time Serger Basics class, you’ll learn the essential skills and techniques needed to confidently use a serger machine. This beginner-friendly class will introduce you to the parts of a serger, basic stitches, and techniques for creating clean, professional-looking finishes.

Previous sewing knowledge is required to take this class. Students do not need prior serger experience.

Our studio sews with Brother® serger machines. Students must use our studio sergers for this group class and may not bring their own personal serger.

Class Details:

Learn the basics of serger operation, including machine parts, threading, tension adjustments, and safe use. You’ll practice sewing straight seams, curves, and finishing raw edges while exploring the different stitches your serger can create. We’ll also cover common troubleshooting tips to help you feel more comfortable using a serger in your future sewing projects.

Requirements:

Previous sewing machine knowledge is required. Students should be comfortable operating a sewing machine before attending this class or attend our Machine Sewing Basics class.

No fabric, thread, or tools are needed. All supplies are included.
