MACHINE SEWING | QUILTING CRASH COURSE

Join our 6-hour workshop, split into two 3-hour sessions, to learn how to quilt patterns and create quilted blocks. This class is perfect for anyone who wants to gain confidence piecing blocks and exploring quilting techniques.

Our studio sews with Brother® computerized sewing machines, and you’re welcome to use one of our studio machines or bring your own functioning machine.

Class 1 Details:

  • Learn how to read and interpret quilt block patterns, select fabrics and colors, and prepare batting and pieces for construction.

  • Practice accurate cutting, organization, and piecing techniques, including maintaining consistent seam allowances for neat blocks.

Class 2 Details:

  • Begin assembling your quilt blocks with instructor guidance, learning techniques for matching seams, aligning pieces, and troubleshooting as you sew.

  • Complete blocks during class and receive guidance on finishing and next steps for expanding your blocks into a personal project or a future larger quilt.

Weekends | 1PM–4PM

Requirements:

  • Prior sewing machine experience is required. If you are new to machine sewing, please take our Machine Sewing Basics or Machine Sewing Crash Course first.

  • Class 1: Pre-washed cotton fabric; no other supplies needed.

  • Class 2: Bring your project materials, including fabric and pattern pieces, as well as any notions required to complete your blocks.
