In this one-time Quilting Basics class, you’ll learn the foundations of quilting, including fabric selection, cutting, piecing, and basic quilting techniques. No quilting experience is required, but previous sewing machine experience is needed to participate. With guidance from our experienced instructor, you’ll create a small quilt block to take home and continue building your quilting skills.
Previous sewing machine experience and knowledge is required, or students must complete our Machine Sewing Basics class before attending.
Our studio sews with Brother® computerized sewing machines. You’re welcome to use one of our studio machines or bring your own functioning personal machine to get better acquainted with it.
Explore the essential skills needed to begin quilting, including choosing fabrics and colors, using rotary cutters and rulers for accurate cutting, and piecing fabric together to create a quilt block. You’ll learn the basics of quilt construction while gaining confidence with techniques you can use for future quilting projects.
Thursdays | 6:30PM-8:30PM
Students are welcome to use our studio scrap fabrics or bring their own cotton fabric to create their quilt block.
