Our studio sews with Brother® computerized sewing machines, and you’re welcome to use one of our studio machines or bring your own functioning machine to get comfortable with it.
Learn how to read and interpret pattern markings, symbols, and instructions.
Understand pattern pieces, grainlines, notches, and seam allowances.
Learn how to take accurate measurements and compare them to your pattern to determine the best fit.
Practice preparing fabric and pattern pieces, including cutting layout and marking, so you’re ready to start sewing in the next class.
Begin working with your own pattern and fabric, guided by the instructor.
Learn how to assemble your pieces, adjust fit, and troubleshoot common pattern issues.

Prior sewing machine experience is required. If you do not have machine experience please take our Machine Sewing Basics class or Machine Sewing Crash Course before this Patterns Crash Course.
