In this two-hour, one-time Sewing Seams class, you’ll learn the essential techniques needed to create strong, clean, and professional-looking seams. Whether you’re building confidence after learning the basics or looking to improve the quality of your sewing, this class will help you understand how fabric comes together and give you the skills needed for future sewing projects.

Our studio sews with Brother® computerized sewing machines. You’re welcome to use one of our studio machines or you can even bring your own personal machine to get better acquainted with it.

Class Details:

In this class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of sewing seams, including understanding seam allowances, fabric placement, and techniques for creating accurate and consistent stitching. You’ll practice sewing straight seams, curved seams, and corners while learning how to create clean, polished finishes.

You’ll explore common seam finishes and learn when to use them, including zigzag finishing, French seams, and flat-felled seams, enclosed seam finish commonly found in denim and other hard-wearing garments. You’ll also learn how proper pressing and finishing techniques can improve the overall look and quality of your sewing projects.

By the end of class, you’ll have a stronger understanding of garment construction and the confidence to approach future sewing projects with a better foundation.

No fabric or supplies are needed for this class. All materials are included.

Students will not complete a finished project during this class.

Previous sewing machine experience and knowledge is required or students must take our Machine Sewing Basics Class.
