Got a pile of clothes that need fixing? Let’s tackle them together at Fix-It Fridays!
This one-time, hands-on class is all about learning to repair and refresh your clothes (or other fabric items) instead of tossing them. Whether it's a missing button, ripped seam, or a pair of jeans that needs patching, you'll leave with practical skills and something fixed!
Our studio sews with Brother® computerized sewing machines. You’re welcome to use one of our studio machines or you can even bring your own functioning personal machine to get better acquainted with it.
Class Details:
Bring Your Own Repairs: Bring up to three items of clothing or fabric goods that need basic fixes like patching, hemming, or button replacement. We’ll guide you as to what item would be easiest to repair.
Learn Essential Repair Skills: Help repairing rips, reinforcing seams, sewing on buttons, and more.
Use What You Have: We’ll provide tools, basic thread, and scrap fabric for patching. Bring any matching thread, buttons, or fabric you'd like to use.
Dates & Times:
Fridays | 6:30PM-8:30PM
Requirements:
Previous sewing machine experience and knowledge is required or students must take our Machine Sewing Basics Class.
Students must bring their own clothing to fix to the class. It’s likely students will not finish every project they have in mind for this class. Please join another Fix It Fridays Class or Guided Open Studio to complete your project(s).
