REPAIR & MENDING | CRASH COURSE

$250.00

Ready to save the clothes you love instead of throwing them away? Our Repair & Mending Crash Course is a six-hour, two-part workshop designed to teach you creative ways to repair, reinforce, and refresh your favorite garments.

This class combines techniques inspired by our Denim Repair, Visible Mending, and Appliqué Basics classes into one hands-on experience focused on extending the life of your wardrobe. You’ll learn how to repair damage, strengthen worn areas, and transform imperfections into intentional design details.

This class is the perfect next step for students who have completed our Machine Sewing | Alterations Crash Course and want to continue building their skills through sustainable sewing practices.

Our studio sews with Brother® computerized sewing machines. You’re welcome to use one of our studio machines or bring your own functioning personal machine to get better acquainted with it.

Class One Details:

Explore creative repair techniques including patching, visible mending, decorative stitching, and appliqué. You’ll learn how to assess damaged areas, choose the best repair approach, and practice techniques that can be used on denim, shirts, jackets, and other everyday garments.

You’ll create samples and plan how to approach your own clothing rescue projects before applying your skills in Class Two.

Class Two Details:

Bring 2–3 garments that need a little extra love. Jeans with worn areas, favorite shirts with holes, vintage finds, or clothing you want to strengthen and personalize are all welcome.

Using the techniques from Class One, you’ll work on your own garments with guidance from our instructors and learn how to turn repairs into creative details that make your clothing feel new again.

Dates & Times:

Weekends | 1PM-4PM (both sessions)

Requirements:

Students must bring 2–3 garments you’d like to repair or refresh. Denim, cotton shirts, jackets, and other sturdy fabrics work especially well.

Students are welcome to bring fabric scraps, trims, or other materials they’d like to incorporate. You’re also welcome to use our studio scrap fabrics.

Previous sewing machine experience and knowledge is required or students must take our Machine Sewing Basics Class and Hemming & Alterations Class or Crash Course.
